2019 Comedy Night

NFD Family and Friends,

It’s the time of year that we the Newark Fire Chapter of the United Civil Servants Association begin to prepare for our annual fundraiser “Comedy Night 2019.” This year’s event is SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2019 and the venue has changed. It will be at the MEDITERRANEAN MANOR on Chestnut and Jefferson Streets in Newark.

As always, doors open at 6:30 with food and drinks available from 7:00 till end (usually around 11:00pm)

$75 per person includes beer, wine, soda, sangria with full buffet dinner and dessert. 

Comedy Central comedians Tommy Gooch (Emcee) with Jim Dailakis and Rob Falcone to perform!

Show starts at 9:00 pm. Tickets will be available next week but we’re taking full table reservations now!

We’d love nothing more than to pack the house AGAIN!

Blaze on the Beach 2019

Hosted by The United Civil Servants, our annual Blaze on the Beach will be held Friday, July 12th, at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, N.J., beginning at noon.

 

In addition to having a good time with your UCS brothers and sisters, we are continuing our tradition of Blaze on the Beach benefiting a brother or sister’s child in need.

12 NOON START TIME, UNTIL 5PM
$65 AT THE DOOR

Comedy Night Roundup

The United Civil Servants Association would like to thank all those who came in support of our annual “Comedy Night” fundraiser this past Saturday at Iberia’s.

Over 200 people were treated to a great show by 3 hysterical comedians who also thanked us for a great night!
Our family, friends and Newark Fire Department family enjoyed a lot of food, drinks and laughter while helping raise money for the numerous causes and charities that we support year round.
On Saturday in particular, we issued $500 checks right away to “Operation Warm” which is spearheaded by our Newark Fire Officers Union and buys brand new, American made winter coats to children at one of Newark’s elementary schools. Also, a check was given to the “Rising Stars Sports Academy” in the city enabling a good number of young athletes to attend out of state tournaments.
As always, we’d like to recognize and truly thank those (including everyone who attended) who support our organization in everything that we do.
Thank you to the Newark Fire Unions, both Firefighters and Officers, the Michael J. Delane Fund, Newark Pipe and Drum Band, the Newark Firemen Federal Credit Union, the Hispanic Firefighters Association and the staff at Iberia’s.
And of course, no UCSA event would be as successful without our brother Ray Montalvo and his music!
Raising money to make a difference in the city we love, serve and protect is a clear goal of our organization. Along with all of you who attend and support our events, we hope to keep the tradition alive for many years to come.
Like we say every year after the Blaze, let’s do it again next year!
