Blaze On The Beach Recap

Thursday, August 4, 2016 posted by admin

Dear Brother and Sister UCSA Members,

Thanks again for yet another great “Blaze on the Beach” supporting two of our own.  Although the total number of attendees was a little low, we did manage to raise a lot of money to support a brother and sister firefighter, and had a blast doing it.

Brothers and Sisters,

We conducted two Captains oral prep classes which were held at Killkennys Ale House . First on Feb 17th where 19 members attended and the second, on Feb 19Th where 26 members attended.

The classes were a huge success. I want to wish all members GOOD LUCK on the exam!

And I would like to take this time to thank B/C Rich Ciasella of the Jersey City Fire Dept for his time, effort and professionalism.

Comedy Night a Great Success

Friday, November 14, 2014 posted by admin

Brothers,

On Oct 11th 2014 we held our annual comedy night.  The turnout was a little light, but the night was still a success.  I would like to thank the three very funny comics that entertained us: Our MC Tommy Gooch, Dan Wilson, and John Pizzi.   I don’t think we all stopped laughing the entire night.

Also, I would like to acknowledge Nelson Guzman of Ladder 5.  You were for some reason their target that night and you were nothing short of a great sport. You helped to make the night even funnier.   I would also like to thank Angela Anemoyanis who is always a central part of all of our fundraisers and is an extended member of our Fire Dept. family.

That night we gave a check to the winner of our Veterans Day Essay, Francesca Gibbons.  A donation was also presented to Mark Zarro, who is jump-starting the wrestling and sports program at Christ the King Preparatory School here in Newark.

I urge all members, their families and friends to attend next year’s event.

This is the only fundraiser we hold that all proceeds benefit our organization.

Yours in Brotherhood,

Al Carlucci, President U.C.S.A.
